Isn't this interesting! I know that Dudley Hawley was involved with Farnol during the 30s in trying to sell a series on boxing to US newspapers on his behalf, although unsuccessful, and I get the impression that Dudley and Farnol were good friends. That Dudley should have gone to the trouble of compiling a dictionary or glossary of US slang for Farnol in 1926 is something previously unknown to me.

I'll see if his son, Hughson Hawley III is still with us, and if he remembers anything about it, although he would only have been a child at the time.

How did it come into your possession?

Pat
