My wife, Barbara is a keen Farnoholic, and from the early days of our marriage, I was trained to join in the hunt for the missing titles in her collection. As soon as the 'Book for Jane' reprint became available I made sure that she got a copy, leaving only NBFJ missing from the set - or so I thought.

Tonight, as we sat down to eat, I mentioned the forthcoming 'Annual Meeting’, in case she might be interested/able to attend, and also referred to the latest NBFJ price mentioned on the forum. "Oh, I've got one of those," she said and, sure enough, there was Number 15(?) sitting on the shelf proud as Punch!

Neither of us can remember where it came from but suspect that our daughter may have run it to ground for a birthday present.

The pages are all unmarked (so it is not Hackney's) and the binding is good. The flyleaf carries the information '95/8', '1st. edition', '£12' in soft pencil and the dust jacket is complete except for a little missing from the top of the spine and an inch or so missing from the bottom of it. Someone has protected it from further damage with a plastic cover, but has trimmed off the exposed corners of the fold-over flaps, presumably to slide it into the cover more easily.

So it seems that ‘Inca ingots’ not only exist, Gerry, but are just lying around, waiting to be picked up! Can’t stop - I’m just off to the safe deposit box!
